Experience
Prior to founding Townsend Real Estate Partners, Mr. Nelsen served as a Vice President in charge of Development for Carr America Realty Co., a $2 Billion publicly traded R.E.I.T. with a portfolio in excess of 25 million sq. ft. Prior to his work at Carr America, Mr. Nelsen was a Partner at Koll Development, Inc., one of the largest private development firms in the country. Mr. Nelsen has completed numerous development and redevelopment project throughout the Western United States and has expertise from site identification and acquisition through property operations and disposition. Mr. Nelsen also has a background in construction, having worked for Turner Construction, one of the largest contractors in the United States.
Mr. Nelsen&srquo;s current projects include: overseeing a receivership for FedReceiver of a 150,000 sq. ft. office project in Northern California, completing a seismic retrofit of a 100,000 sq. ft. office building and the acquisition and renovation of a resort in Colorado&srquo;s Vail Valley along with the entitlement of the surrounding 30 acres for residential development.
