ENGAGEMENT: Federal Trade Commission v. Hite Media Group, LLC, et al.
On July 17th the Federal Trade Commission obtained a Temporary Restraining Order with an Asset Freeze from the U.S. District Court, District of Arizona, and the Court appointed Steve Donell as the Temporary Receiver over Hite Media Group, Premium Business Solutions, Premium Domain Services, 2 Unique and Amazing App. In addition to the entities, Michael Ford Hilliard, Michael De Rosa, Shawn Stumbo, Tiffany Hoffman and Jeremy Silvers were named as defendants in the case and their assets are also temporary frozen.
The FTC is alleging that the defendants falsely represented that consumers who purchase and use the defendants’ services are likely to receive government, corporate, or private grants worth thousands of dollars which consumers can use for personal expenses. And the FTC does not believe that these services will result in any benefits to consumers. Therefore, the Receiver was appointed to take custody and control of the companies to prevent further losses to consumers until the Court determines whether or not the TRO should be made permanent.
The next hearing will take place on July 31st at 3:00 p.m. In the meantime, the Receiver has shut down all company operations and is currently reviewing files and preparing an accounting. The Court House is located at 401 West Washington Street in Phoenix, Arizona. The United States District Judge is Steven P. Logan.
